Bandini seems possible, the other 2 are barely visible so how did you reach the identifications?FatmanDan wrote: ↑30/08/2023, 15:39so, for reasons of conclusion, we have these further drivers:PeplumParadise wrote: ↑30/08/2023, 1:21Yes, I agree - well spottedBuono Legnani wrote: ↑30/08/2023, 0:394

So did you find some information that it was definitely filmed at the Italian Grand Prix?
If so then the ID's would seem probable, although it's likely that it was filmed during practices as otherwise drivers would be far too preoccupied with the race to stop for a film crew making a movie.
Is it certain that it was not the French Grand Prix since it is a French co-production or some other race held on the Italian race track as the Grand Prix is not the only race the track would have been used for?
The scenes involving Italian actors, including the commentator, are intercut with the race footage and do not appear to have been shot at the same time and location, so the race footage was presumably shot by the second unit, probably on the fly since the film looks like it had an extremely low budget.
I think they will have to be entered as probable ID's since they cannot be recognised facially in the film, unless we can find some information to confirm where and when the race footage was shot.

it's really not important, Nick. But the cars had "fixed" numbers during the whole season, therefore it's not important where it was filmed.PeplumParadise wrote: ↑30/08/2023, 21:14So did you find some information that it was definitely filmed at the Italian Grand Prix?

The initial scene of the racetrack was shot in Pergusa, province of Enna, Sicily most likely in 1965 This and herePeplumParadise wrote: ↑30/08/2023, 21:14So did you find some information that it was definitely filmed at the Italian Grand Prix?

So I have to apologize, cause the numbers differ strongly
Correct drivers should be Jochen Rindt (face form fits perfectly) in 9 and Innes Ireland in 13 (ditto), then

Well it is important if we are trying to confirm that ID's for non-identifiable non-actors are correct.
I'm no expert on motor racing, but I would assume that the Grand Prix is not the only racing event held in a year and that other races that are not formula one would have different drivers using the same numbers. The only real information we have on screen is that there is a race taking place somewhere, and neither the credits nor IMDb make any mention of locations or any reference to the race at all.

Thanks, that is certainly a big help, I thought it seemed somewhat unlikely that a low-budget film would be granted access to the biggest event of the season, but can we be certain that the footage was shot at this specific race? I assume the Pergusa track would have held races throughout the year.Cinema Italiano wrote: ↑30/08/2023, 21:46

That also throws the John Surtees ID into doubt since he did not participate in this race, though it certainly does seem like him in the image and, unlike the other drivers, he is clearly identifiable.
I'm not trying to be difficult, but since 2 driver ID's are based solely on their car numbers, then we really do need to know both the location and the date the footage was shot.
