Alessandro Perrella was active since the later sixties as an actor in minor roles. After two decades, at the beginning of the nineties, with the boom of the porn cinema in Italy, he reinvented himself as a director, filming many films of this kind of genre with stars like Rocco Siffredi and Anita Dark. In the 2000s he also debuted as a horror director with his feature films Hell's Fever (2006) and Sinner (2009).
