A little article about Rosita printed in
Radiocorriere TV n. 7 (15 February 1970).
Rosita Torosh will impersonate on TV the figure of Maria Sophie of Bavaria, the wife of Francis II of Bourbon (nicknamed Franceschiello), king of the Two Sicilies, dentronized in 1860 by the tumultuous Garibaldi advance of the Thousand. La fine di un regno - this is the title of the television drama, divided into two episodes, which Alessandro Blasetti has just finished shooting in the Neapolitan studios - will recall the dissolution of the Bourbon monarchy. For the role of the queen, a young and authoritarian woman who unsuccessfully tried to save the throne, Blasetti was looking for a flexible but new actress to the television audience: he found her in Rosita Torosh. Coming from a family of Austro-Hungarian origin, Rosita Torosh was born in Gorizia 23 years ago, but lived in Udine: she left her university studies (she was enrolled in the faculty of literature) to move to Rome and attempt a career as an actress, towards to whom he felt an irrepressible vocation. She passed the exams at the Academy of Dramatic Art, but then ("frightened", she says "by the austerity of the environment and the columns of the building") she decided to enroll in the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia where she hoped to find a more environment "open and less academic". Her experience was, all in all, positive, but rather disappointing in terms of her career: she starred in a film, which however has not yet appeared on the screens. "Ours," says Torosh, "is a miners' job, tremendously tiring. Only a deep will to succeed can support us fully." Now, from television, she hopes a lot to be able to affirm her artistic qualities in which she has an unshakable faith. Everything went smoothly with Blasetti: "The fact of having the baptism of the video under the guidance of a director of her fame and her experience", says Rosita, "gives me security and confidence". Torosh, who so far has not given any bait to rumors of more or less sensational engagements in the show business, lives in Rome, in a small apartment near the Colosseum.
