Giovanni Petti vs Giovanni Petrucci

This what I have in my database on Giovanni Petti and Giovanni Pettruci that may help or not, but I'll let the experts here sort it out for sure.

PETTI, Giovanni [3/3/1898, Rome, Lazio, Italy – 6/19/1980, Rome, Lazio, Italy] – film actor.
The Return of Pancho Villa – 1950 (bartender)
Ride and Kill – 1963 (Lewitt)
The Man from the Cursed Valley - 1964
The Son of Jesse James – 1964 (Power cowboy)
Two Violent Men – 1964 (town naysayer)
Dollars for a Fast Gun – 1965 (barman)
Rebels in Canada – 1965 (Milton)
The Relentless Four – 1965 (Judge)
5 Giants from Texas – 1966 (Manolo)
Thompson 1880 – 1966 (Mayor)
A Pistol for 100 Coffins – 1968 (old prisoner)
Companeros! – 1970 (border officer)
Requiem for a Bounty Hunter – 1971 (Barton’s father) [as John Petty]
The White, the Yellow the Black – 1974

PETRUCCI, Giovanni (aka G. Petti, Giovanni Retti, John Petty) [4/5/1941, Rome, Lazio, Italy – ] – film, voice actor son of writer Antonio Petrucci [1907-1981]
The Dirty Outlaws – 1967 (Rico)
Lola Colt – 1967 (Slim) [as John Petty]
A Man, a Colt – 1967 (hotel clerk) [as Giovanni Petti]
Dead Men Don’t Count – 1968 (Harrison) [as Giovanni Petti]
Death Rides a Horse – 1968 (Walcott henchman)
Go for Broke – 1968 [as Giovanni Petti]
A Taste of Death – 1968 (Tony’s friend)
Sartana the Gravedigger – 1969 (Hot Iron deputy)
Tequila – 1972 (Compton)
Whisky and Ghosts – 1978 [as Giovanni Petti]

It seem Petrucci was credited as Petty and Petti so was this a typing error or what. You can see is Petrucci was born in 1941 there's no way he could be the actor credited as the bartender in the Return of Pancho Villa in 1950 or any of the early 1960 credits as he'd still be a kid. Is he Rico in The Dirty Outlaws at age 16?

That's what I have so I'll turn it over to you folks to sort through and determine which actor fits each role. Best of luck.

Thanks Tom, that is at least of some help in explaining the assorted credits where Petti does and does not appear. While it was seemingly quite normal to have multiple Spanish actors who would be credited with the same name, it is rather unusual with Italian actors (give or take Enzo/Vincenzo Maggio and Giuseppe/Pino Mattei) and I think this may be a unique situation where you have 2 different actors who were both credited on occasion with the same name AND the same pseudonym (John Petty)!

I've put Petti's potential topic on the back burner for the time being, but will come back to it at some point.

Is Petti definitely identified in The White, the Yellow the Black (1974) where you haven't mentioned his role and similarly is Petrucci definitely identified in Go for Broke (1968) and Whisky and Ghosts (1978), also without roles?

I don't think the above Petti/Petrucci divisions are correct. For starters, "Slim" in Lola Colt is an old man and most definitely not played by Petrucci. I can't say if he's Petti, but he is surely not Petrucci, so I'm not convinced Petrucci was ever credited as Giovanni Petti or John Petty. This needs to be examined closer and verified in each case.

It's Giovanni Petti in Lola Colt and it's also him in A Man, a colt, but the older Petti definitely does not appear in a number of films where "Giovanni Petti" is credited, so it must either be an unfortunate pseudonym Petrucci used or else a different, so far unknown, actor of the same name. Carlos didn't find any common unidentified actor in the films where Petti is credited but not appearing.

It seems more like a case of Giovanni Petti having an unusually large number of "credit only" roles than it does for Giovanni Petrucci to have been using his name. IMDb are great at creating such messes (see also their mix-up of stuntman Franco Moruzzi and C.S.C. actor Franco Morici). Again, this is something that would need to be closely checked and verified in each case in order to fully sort out and separate the tangled up filmographies of Petti and Petrucci, but that would likely be a pretty big job.

I think there are too many non-appearing credits for this to be the explanation. For a non-c.s.c. actor you might expect one or two credits where they cannot be found, but Petti has at least 5 and probably more and his filmography is not that big, so that is quite a large percentage.

This sounds plausible, but I'm not familiar with either Petti or Petrucci.
According to Imdb and also with pics in his profile page, Petrucci is credited as Giovanni Petti in Il sesso della strega and is this guy (my screenshot). Do you agree?

And couldn't be instead really Petti as the priest?

Since I asked a question of Carlos in his requests, the subject has grown somewhat, so I am putting all the previous posts together in this topic.

Still plenty of titles to add to the list below, I'll work on it as time allows. Unfortunately I don't know Petrucci at all, so I can only confirm whether Petti appears.
