Franco Magno or not

Post by Johan Melle » 12/09/2018, 2:51

Having found a great-looking version of Boccaccio '70 (1962), I was going to replace the old pics of Franco Magno photographed off the TV screen, but when I looked at the scene, I immediately began to doubt that this man is actually Franco Magno at all. Look at these pictures:

Boccaccio 70 - Magno Or Not1.jpg
Boccaccio 70 - Magno Or Not2.jpg
Boccaccio 70 - Magno Or Not3.jpg
Boccaccio 70 - Magno Or Not4.jpg

What do you think? Does he look different because he's younger here, or is it simply because it's a different actor? Personally, I don't think this is Magno.

To be honest even before you posted these pics i had some doubts, now i would really say he is not him.

Yes, I suggest we remove this role, though I'll give the rest of the team a chance to give their opinions first.

I think is another actor. The shape of nose is different from that of Magno.

The resembleance is remarkable... still, I'm doubtful :unsure2:

It must be considered that 8-10 years have passed between the snapshots in object and the others. In all this time the ears and the nose can visibly enlarge and tend to go down.
But there are three things that can not change at all: these are the shape of the head, which is especially different in the image on the right, the secondly is the thickness of the nose, thinner and pointed in the case of Magno, and thirdly they both have a crooked nose, but the nose of Magno is crooked to the left, while that of this unknown actor is crooked to the right.
For these considerations I believe that he is not Magno.

I think Emiliano's careful analysis and comparison is the final word in the matter, and I've now removed Boccaccio '70 from Franco Magno's filmography. Thanks to everyone for your input.

The movie is Il moralista (1959), unfortunately I didn't write down his role.
