Re: The Whitebeard project
Well, this guy isn't exactly a whitebeard (though there's at least a little bit of white there), but I noticed him in Che gioia vivere (1961) because he looked familiar
I'm quite sure it's the same man who plays Father Agostino in Il vedovo (1959)
IMDb says that Father Agostino is played by Eugenio Maggi, but I don't know if that's correct (ANICA doesn't attribute Maggi with any specific role). Worth looking into, though, because even if it is Maggi, I see that of the 14 IMDb credits he has (from 1948 to 1961), at least two are uncredited (as is the role in Che gioia vivere), so he could be another one who was often uncredited...

Yes, looks like they should be the same guy - same style and shape of beard, hairline and left ear look like they matchJohan Melle wrote: ↑11/09/2020, 21:59Well, this guy isn't exactly a whitebeard (though there's at least a little bit of white there), but I noticed him in Che gioia vivere (1961) because he looked familiar

Re: The Whitebeard project
Thanks. After some more investigation, it seems this man is not Eugenio Maggi, so he's another unknown to look out for then.PeplumParadise wrote: ↑11/09/2020, 22:20Yes, looks like they should be the same guy - same style and shape of beard, hairline and left ear look like they match
Btw, who is this guy in the pics you posted of Casadei in Ben-Hur? He looks really familiar to me. Is he your Polar Beard generico, or is he someone else?

Re: The Whitebeard project
It could maybe be a second role for Polar Beard, who I identified in one role yesterday, but I'm not sure as Polar Beard seems to have always kept his beard brushed/fluffed out while this one is brushed down - it could be possible he brushed it differently to avoid confusion with the other role, the length and colouring does look similar, though besides ourselves I doubt very much anyone has ever even considered his identity before, let alone the possibility he might play 2 rolesJohan Melle wrote: ↑12/09/2020, 11:50

I don't know him too well and, unfortunately, we don't get to see the top of his ears, which are fairly distinctive, but if you compare with this pics from Che gioia vivere, there's a very noticeable similarity IMO.

Re: The Whitebeard project
I'll add the image with the ones I posted yesterday as an uncertain second role - I'm still familiarising myself with him too, but it appears he may have been quite a busy one, so hopefully we'll know him well enough to become more sure of the ID's before too longJohan Melle wrote: ↑12/09/2020, 12:19I don't know him too well and, unfortunately, we don't get to see the top of his ears, which are fairly distinctive, but if you compare with this pics from Che gioia vivere, there's a very noticeable similarity IMO.

Re: The Whitebeard project
This one popped up in both the films I was watching earlier today, and we already have a few other roles for him.
He has a similar look to the one Ciavazzaro has mentioned before in our images 136, 140 and 150 (and maybe also 132 and 153), but the actor in the images here seems to have a wider head so I'm not sure they can be the same.
