This was in fact a Russian-Italian political co-production made in the time of the Sovjet Union with Giancarlo Giannini and Ornella Muti in the title roles and the story is set in Portugal around the beginning of the 70's. If he is credited then maybe in the Italian version, because this was all in Russian.
