I thin, "Kidnap in Rome" (date given as 1976) is the same film as "The Godfather squad" (1974). We should merge the film(/titles.
I don't think they are the same film. Both feature a teaming of Ruffini and Fineschi, but they are dressed differently and none of the other background actors present in Kidnap in Rome also appear in The Godfather Squad and the oriental titles are distinctly different.

It does look like some of the older entries for Kidnap in Rome have been put with the incorrect year of 1974. The 2 films were almost certainly filmed back-to-back in 1974, but Kidnap in Rome doesn't appear to have been released until 2 years later.
Because when the original entries were made, both films were listed as 1974 on IMDb, but that has since changed. Not sure what's correct - 1974 for both, or 1976 for both? IMDb often gets the years wrong.

Btw, isn't Jon Chevron in one of these films? I just suddenly seemed to recall that, but maybe I'm misremembering and confusing him with another black actor...

Very okay, then. I thought about them being the same cause the role descriptions for Fineschi are exactly the same, from what I found ("Bully taunting Chinese")

Going by the earliest known dates of release the 74 and 76 dates would appear to be correct. It doesn't seem that either film was released in Italy.

I don't recall Chevron, but it's several years since I've had cause to watch either film, so it could be.

They play in an almost identical scene in both films, presumably the makers were happy with the result from one film so chose to repeat the formula.

Wasn't it Santiago Rivero who plays this role?

You have the three of them dressed in identical uniforms, so I assume they are all harbourmasters (or maybe there's a better role description)
