Yeah, I'm not very hopeful about finding many other Hollywood roles. Not unless we have someone who watches a lot of Hollywood films from that era who can keep an eye out for him. It's really a pity that he has such a common name, because it makes him very hard to research.

Thanks for the timings. I'll check for this as well as Marchetti tomorrow.

How would you describe Salvatore's role in Il vangelo secondo Simone e Matteo? I'm a bit unsure what exactly he's supposed to be. Tourist tour operator?

Somehow I managed to not post Salvatore's close-up (where's that face palm smiley when I need it?), but here it is
Vangelo - Salvatore Furnari.jpg

As for the actual role, I'm not sure what to call it. Antonio Cantafora and Paul Smith are in debt to Fortunato Arena's character, but it's never really made clear how Salvatore's character is connected to Fortunato. He just sits next to him and laughs like a maniac and chews on a banana, plus he hits Paul Smith with a stick at one point. Maybe an assistant to Fortunato, but it's really hard to tell. Maybe other members have better suggestions...?

Haha, now I got the impression that Salvatore was the boss and Fortunato was working for him, but I didn't really have much of a clue what was going on

Here's the film dubbed in English. A bit choppy at the start where Salvatore's scene occurs (maybe due to print damage) but perhaps makes things a little clearer: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3uibju

Watching it in English I still get the impression that Salvatore is either the boss sitting back and relaxing while Fortunato does the work collecting the money or at least that they're a double act, I suppose they're some sort of debt collectors but it really isn't explained clearly in any language. I see I have Fortunato listed as being a "cashier" which he clearly is, though there's obviously more to it than that and that description wouldn't work for Salvatore. How about "the cashier's dwarf partner"?

NB: I did some research and it seems like little people are perfectly happy to be referred to as dwarfs and don't regard it as offensive, "midget" is the term which really should not be used
