Nick, i have checked les Cracks (1968) where Pino Mattei is listed as Orlando(i) as an Italian cyclist (source / wikipedia)
In this comedy il commandante shouts at his pupil, Italian cyslist "avanti, Orlandi" and this is the cyclist in the following pictures, but
is he Pino ?

The Italian cyclists have a red jersey (This cyclist and Guéret are the most in sight)
It's not Pino in red, but the actor beside him in the first 2 pics might possibly be him? He would need to be seen more clearly to be sure

In the red is no way Mattei, he is completely different.

Where did you find the movie? Maybe I can recognise him

The only copy i could find was on ok.ru
it took a while to copy it, but it was the only source (It's not on rarelust and rarefilm.net)
good luck

PS: maybe he is not in the movie, but credited
If i find more about his role i communicate it

Most sources (Wikipedia, British film institute and Anica) say he is playing the role of Orlandi (no more details given)

The pictures are of low quality and it's hard to get a good look at the features, but it looks to me like the man in red is the other Giuseppe Mattei (sometimes also credited as James Harris). I think that the credit in La mano spietata della legge (1973), where Pino has not been found, also refers to the other Giuseppe Mattei, but I'll have to re-check the film to be sure.

I guess Johan's theory must be correct as I couldn't find our Pino anywhere.

Curiously the copy I found on ok.ru was widescreen rather than the cropped copy Rudy found, though the quality wasn't really any better

There his this actor from "Confessioni segrete di un convento di clausura" that play "Ser Loppolo" and IMBD and CinemaDe says that is Giuseppe Mattei, credited in the opening titles..... in the films our "Pino Mattei" I have not found.... maybe there is another Giuseppe Mattei ....
Ser Loppolo (Giuseppe Mattei).png
there is a vague resemblance with the cyclist "Orlandi".....

and the same actor is in "Nuda per Satana" with the name James Harris playing "The Devil"

Yes, it seems to be that there are 2 actors with the same name, which is rather confusing, but could account for some of the films where we have Giuseppe "Pino" Mattei credited, but he doesn't appear.

It would seem odd that he would use the same name as an already established actor rather than a pseudonym to differentiate him, but maybe everyone knew the one we have the topic for as Pino, even though he was credited as Giuseppe on a number of occasions in films where he definitely does appear.

Giuseppe (who isn't Pino) seems to probably be a generico as he doesn't have too many credits, so maybe someone should start a topic for him and attempt to sort out the confusion.
