Re: Daniela Rocca
Esther and the King (1960) credited as Daniella Rocca, as Queen Vashti.
Daniela holds her own, although she lost out in the publicity department, against stiff competition from British star Joan Collins and new girl on the block Rosalba Neri. Director Raoul Walsh reportedly did not like Daniela and allowed her stand-in to, quite obviously, perform her big dance number.

La regina delle Amazzoni (1960) credited as Daniella Rocca, as Melitta.
Daniela is fortunate to have one of the showier roles here, once again holding her own in a large ensemble cast.

La vendetta dei barbari (1960) credited as Daniella Rocca, as Galla Placidia.
Daniela got top billing here, though unfortunately the film was rather a mediocre affair.

Re: Daniela Rocca
Divorzio all'italiana (1961) credited, as Rosalia Cefalù.
Daniela's lead role here, as Marcello Mastroianni's ugly-duckling wife, cursed with a hairy upper lip and mono-brow, is unquestionably the one for which she is best remembered today (at least among those who are not peplum fans). The film was nominated for several Oscars, including best director and actor, winning the award for best screenplay. Daniela's contribution sadly went largely unheralded, although she did receive a nomination for best actress from the British film academy and was awarded best actress at the Avellino Neorealism Film Festival. Unfortunately this production, which should have been a great triumph and launched her career to the next level, also marked the beginning of Daniela's personal problems when she fell in love with director Pietro Germi, a love which was not reciprocated.

Daniela again has top billing here, but this film sadly seems to have mostly vanished into obscurity.
