This is one of those filmed adaptations of operas where actors mime to opera singers voices, that were briefly popular in the 40's and 50's. Franco even gets to mime solo to a couple of lines of the song.

Murdered narcotics agent, seen only as a corpse and in a photograph. A pretty curious role in which Franco's rather narrow eyes got him cast as a Japanese character.
