John Benedy, pseudonym of
Giovanni De Benedettis, was born in 1938 in Mesagne, near Brindisi, and still lives in that part of Italy, in another little town called Serranova.
He works a lot in fotoromanzi in the sixties and (I presume) in the seventies as well. His filmography consists in few movies where his particular bad face gave him always villain roles.

As you mentioned he was in many fotoromanzi neri, including many, many numbers of
Killing and Kimba, re dell'Africa nera (both from Ponzoni Editore).
Killing N. 38: "...E dopo uccidi" (April 1968)
Killing N. 46: "Il premio è morire" (August 1968)
He was also in more traditional (romantic) fotoromanzi. This is him in
Barbara N. 11: "Tramonto sul mare" (November 1971) - credited as "John Benedit" here
Benedy also had several uncredited roles in the 1960s. For example, he has a role in the famous Visconti film Rocco e i suoi fratelli (1960). I know this because there is an actor profile on him in Killing N. 25 and several of his film roles are mentioned here. Unfortunately, I can't find out anything about some of the titles. I think maybe they are the titles used during production and that the titles were changed before the films reached the cinemas.
Here is Benedy's actor profile in
Killing 25
A very funny thing I just noticed is that this picture above (from Benedy's actor profile in Killing 25) actually comes from the fotoromanzo
Sospetto N. 3: "Gioco mortale" (1963)!
Just look at the picture below from Sospetto N. 3! It is cleary the same

More bad guys roles for John Benedy!
Looking a little different with a beard and glasses in the fotoromanzo
Sospetto N. 3 (Anno III): "Gioco mortale" (March 1963) - here he is credited as Gianni De Benedettis
And here he gets rough with Delia D'Alberti in
Sospetto N. 5 (Anno III): "Una donna di troppo" (May 1963) - credited as Gianni De Benedettis here too
And as a sadistic Mexican in
Genius N. 11: "Violenza a Mayoma" (31 October 1966) - credited as John Benedit

But another interesting little thing about Benedy: even though he is uncredited in
L'amante del demonio, he is credited very prominently on the poster! Hard to see because of the size but Benedy is credited just after Rosalba Neri's name:
You will see that Miriam Begolli (I think that's what it says), Wolfgang Hillinger and Nando Poggi are also credited on the poster but none of them are credited on the IMDb. So I suppose they are not credited in the film. I have seen it before that an actor is credited on the poster but not in the film but to have four actors who are credited prominently on the poster but not credited at all in the actual film is very strang I think!

It does seem strange that in the Italian Cult Media release they use Spanish credits (probably because they wanted to include the opening) yet in this Spanish TV recording the Italian credits are used which are laid over the extended killing of the miners which is not in the DVD. Here we see Benedy and the csc actors plus some others. The second pic shows the different writing credits.
With those distinctive eyebrows could Burton's lieutenant be John Benedy in
Uccidi Django... uccidi per primo!!! (1971)
