Bearing in mind that the photo is not seen straight on, so her facial shape is distorted anyway. I've tried straightening and adjusting it as best I could. I still think it can be Marilu, she was someone whose face changed shape a lot using different make-up on her cheeks, but am not absolutely certain.

Yes, it's her. Using her as the photo of the ex-girlfriend was presumably a kind of in-joke, referencing the fact that Marilù and Argento's real-life relationship had just recently ended.
