Pietro Capanna in Cineguida 1956

Pietro Capanna was a small-part actor, often in roles requiring some stuntwork, active in Italian films throughout the 1950's and 60's.

Pietro was the brother of stuntman Otello Capanna and the uncle of Omero Capanna. We know that he died, but have no date and that he had a daughter who died "long ago".[1] No other biographical details are currently known.

Pietro was someone who I had always assumed had a much larger filmography due to most of his largest roles having been in peplums, but he only has 16 titles listed on his IMDb page (and one of those he does not appear in). I have found a few undocumented roles for Pietro, so I expect that more will follow.

Titles to check

• Ben-Hur (1959) Christoffer Slotte tells us that Pietro's name appears in a cast list he obtained from Turners in the role of "Master of chariots", however the actor in this role is not seen clearly enough to be identifiable.

No Pietro!

Titles where Pietro is credited with appearing somewhere online, but cannot be found. There always has to be one!

• Lucrèce Borgia (1953) IMDb with no role. I have previously head-shotted this film and Pietro is nowhere to be seen.
