Burt Nelson was an American actor, active in US films and television in the late 1950's and Italian films in the first half of the 1960's (with one odd role 24 years later).

IMDb and Wikipedia give the unconfirmed details that he was born on June 19th 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. IMDb adds that his birth name was Burton Merriam and that he was 1.91m (6' 3") tall.

He was handsome in a fairly nondescript way and muscular without having a bodybuilder's physique. Rodd Dana described Nelson to Johan as a "Hollywood he-man type who created “Popeyes” Marburger Restaurant on the Via Veneto. Did some acting and dubbing".

He first appeared in small roles in American TV shows and films between 1957-1959. In 1960 he turned up in Europe, reportedly residing in Rome, and over the next 5 years he would appear in at least 6 Italian film productions, of which 2 were shot in Spain and 2 in Yugoslavia, including his only lead role in Drakut il vendicatore (1961). He disappeared from view after 1964, bar one appearance in a semi-documentary in 1972, reappearing for one final role 24 years later in an international production shot in Germany. It seems he also did some dubbing work while in Italy, though the one dubbing credit listed by IMDb is incorrect.

Burt died on June 16th 1998, at the age of 65.
