Alias: Antonio Terzo, Rino Terzo, Terzo.
He was born in Palermo on May 22, 1923, as "Antonino Terzo" and began his artistic career in the stage companies of Totò, Peppino De Filippo, Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia, among others.
Terzo was also active as a singer, appearing in several operettas.
It was around this time that he invented and began to propose his very successful character, a man suffering from stuttering and atavistic aphasia, unable to speak without first inhaling and exhaling deeply.
He made his big screen debut in the early 1960s and starred in around 80 movies until the early 1990s, era in which he was forced to abandon the stage for having fallen seriously ill and having suffered four heart attacks.
He died on May 08, 2005 at the age of 81.
