Furio Meniconi was an actor, mostly in small character roles, active in Italian films from the start of the 1950's until the mid-1970's.

According to all available sources he was born on February 22nd 1924 in Rome, Italy. He was the younger brother of actor Mario Meniconi, with 2 other brothers, Nello and Alfio. IMDb tells us that he was 1.8m (5'11") tall.

In 1948 his brother Mario played a substantial role in Ladri di biciclette as a non-professional actor, and it appears that, as a result of his success in this, commencing in 1949 both brothers chose to take up acting as full-time careers, frequently appearing together. Initially Furio played smaller roles while Mario took larger parts, but by the end of the 50's it was Furio who was playing larger character roles, while Mario shifted to smaller background roles.

In the 1960's Furio became in-demand, firstly in peplums, graduating into westerns later in the decade. In the latter he was sometimes credited with the rather ludicrous pseudonyms "Fury Men" or "Men Fury". Furio worked steadily until seemingly retiring in 1976.

Furio died in Rome on December 12th 1981, aged only 57 (cause unknown).

I have found a number of undocumented, uncredited 50's roles for Furio and it is highly probable that more will follow.

Titles where Mario is listed as appearing somewhere online, but cannot be found. There always has to be one!

• La leggenda di Enea (1962) IMDb as Turno's henchman. I've been through this film many times and Mario is nowhere to be seen.
• I leopardi di Churchill (1970) ANICA with no role. Furio does not appear. There is a "Furio Pellerani" credited who is absent from ANICA, so presumably someone mixed them up.
