Following some discussion we have come to the conclusion that John does not appear in the film, so presumably he shot a role that ended up on the cutting room floor.
This looks to have been John's final role (or at least credit), at the grand old age of 88.

Totò contro i quattro (1963) as The owner of the villa
A memorable part as a sinister villa owner that Totò suspects of kidnapping and murdering young women, but who turns out to merely be a director of macabre fotoromanzi. Oddly enough, this role is missing from all of John's online filmographies - possibly because he looks rather different with the fake black beard.
