The film debut of Fosco Giachetti (born in Sesto Fiorentino, Florence) dates back to 1933 in Il trattato scomparso by Bonnard. Initially on the screen he wore his highly effective mask, impersonating heroes and warriors and gaining so a large popularity in a short time, far surpassing the weak fortune that had accompanied him in the theatrical career.[1]
His creation of the Hamletic commissar in Noi vivi had been regarded as insurmountable, while in Addio, Kira! - an interpretation that got him the award for best actor at the Venice International Film Festival - he found one of the best moments of his whole career.[1]
