He takes his first steps in the world of cinema with Un maledetto imbroglio (1959) by Pietro Germi, while the following year he participates in the masterpiece by Luchino Visconti Rocco e i suoi fratelli. In the 1960s he worked with great directors both in Italy and abroad, reaching the apex of success thanks to the character of Renzo Tramaglino in the TV mini-series I promessi sposi (1967) by Sandro Bolchi.
At the end of the 1970s, his career turned towards television, reserving few space for cinema anyway. Until the 2010s he was still active.
