Massimo Vanni was born on 31 October 1946, in Rome.

He is an actor and stuntman that made his debut with a small role in the 1971 film Ettore lo fusto by Enzo G. Castellari. Bruno Corbucci entrusted him with his most popular role of Brigadier Gargiulo in the Marshal Giraldi series, played by Tomas Milian.

Although he proved to be a good character actor, in the following years he was mainly used in many direct-to-video films directed by Bruno Mattei, where he also played leading roles, under the pseudonym Alex McBride.

Since the 90s he started the activity of master of arms, thanks to his past as a stuntman.

He is still in activity working usually as stuntman and stunt coordinator.
