Vittorina Benvenuti was one of the most personal and appreciated primadonna of the stages in the twenties. After taking her first steps in the theatre troupe of Alfredo de Sanctis, she became the theatre company lead in 1920, alongside Mario Mina; afterwards, always she was the primadonna in the troupes of Sabatino Lopez, Almirante, Ruggeri, Melato and Abba.

In the early fourties she has specialized above all in drawing strong-mothers roles for which she has become one of the best female characters.

Married to the well-known actor Guglielmo Barnabò, like her husband, she left the stage to bring her strong expressive mask to the Silver Screen, making her debut with a relevant role in the film Mariti by Mastrocinque.[1]
