Endowed with a rich sports preparation (particularly horse riding, which is one of her greatest passions), Carla Del Poggio owes her success as actress to Vittorio De Sica. In fact, she was chosed as the protagonist of the film Maddalena... zero in condotta (1940), thus giving her immediate and well-deserved popularity in the role of the frenzied young student.[1]
After some less demanding films such as La bocca sulla strada, Violette nei capelli and La scuola dei timidi, she was again in De Sica's Un garibaldino in convento, demonstrating a self-confident refinement humor and the warm adherence of the delicate nineteenth-century figures.[1]
