George Hilton (Montevideo, Uruguay, July 16, 1934 − Rome, July, 28 2019)[1] began his career in the show business working at the Radio. In 1955 he moved to Argentina adopting the pseudonym of Jorge Hilton and began appearing in various photo novels and film productions, used for his country's market.

Attracted by the flourishing Italian film industry, he arrived in Rome in the 1963, following the example of other South American actors (Jorge Rigaud, Alberto de Mendoza). After having anglicized his name in George, he gets the main role in a pirate-film Il Corsaro Nero nell'isola del tesoro (1965) and, in the same year, he plays a nice emulator of 007 in the comedy with Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia Due mafiosi contro Goldginger.

He was promoted in the western genre by Lucio Fulci with Tempo di massacro (1966), alongside Franco Nero and soon became an icon of this vein. In the following year he starred in seven productions, thus fueling his fame internationally, especially in Spain. He also begins to range over other genres, from drama to war, arriving at the Giallo with Il dolce corpo di Deborah (1968) by Romolo Guerrieri. Endowed with a languid and gloomy charm, he interpreted some of the most brilliant titles of the genre, directed by one of the leading filmmakers of the moment, Sergio Martino: Lo strano vizio della Signora Wardh (1970), La coda dello scorpione (1971), Tutti i colori del buio (1972), and, last but not least, Mio caro assassino (1972) by Tonino Valeri and Perchè quelle strane gocce di sangue sul corpo di Jennifer? (1972) by Giuliano Carmineo. These movies coincide with the pinnacle of his success. Then he participates in some Crimes (Torino violenta, 1977), comedies (Taxi Girl, 1977), fantasy-adventurous (I predatori di Atlantide, 1983), but in a minor tone.

In the eighties, his appearances become more sparse, he works in TV movies (A cena col vampiro, 1988) and TV series. From his last performances was recorded the comedy Natale in crociera (2007) and a a semi amateur Crime, filmed with sympathy, La promessa del sicario (2015).

He died of an illness at the age of 85. In his private life close friends called him Jorgito. He had a daughter, Georgia, and after the divorce, he has been linked to his partner Gabriella, for over 30 years; she is the one that continues to keep the memory of the ex-partner, by managing his Facebook profile.[2]
