He was born in Raščuk, Ottoman Empire (now Bulgaria), on May 11th 1901.[1]
He began his career as a theatre actor at the age of 18, firstly in regional theatre troupes, then from 1929 in the National Theatre in Belgrade. In 1938, along with other artists, he founded the Art Theatre in Belgrade where he acted and directed and throughout the 1950's he also worked as a professor at Belgrade's Theatre Academy.
From 1949 he began appearing in small character roles in feature films and, a few years later, television. For the next 30 years, until his death, he would work very prolifically in these mediums, while simultaneously continuing to act in the theatre. He was most active in TV movies, most of which, unfortunately, are impossible to find today.
Viktor died in Belgrade on June 1st 1980, aged 79. He is buried in the Alley of Meritorious Citizens at Belgrade's New Cemetery.
