He was active in Italian films between 1963-1982 working in pretty much all genres. I believe his filmography to be pretty complete, but there is always the possibility that an unknown role could turn up so keep an eye out. He returned to live in South America in the 80's, where he is known to have made one film appearance.
In addition to working as an actor and wrestler, Dakar was also an accomplished musician (hence his role in Dov'è Anna?), and both his daughters, Guadalupe and Robertha, are well known singers in South America. I have been moderator for Dakar's Facebook Page for some years now and through my work there I have been in contact with his daughter Guadalupe and his nephew Manuel, who have been very supportive and have provided me with photos and information, so I can verify that his biographical details are correct. There are a selection of personal photographs which they have kindly allowed me to share which can be seen on his Facebook page.
Through the Facebook page I have been contacted by a number of people who knew Alejandro, some even reconnecting as a result, and the one thing that they have all made clear is what a wonderful, gentle and joyous man he was, much-loved by all who knew him and quite the opposite to his usual screen personas.
