Re : Valéry Inkijinoff
Found some pictures in Base de données for La rue sans joie (1938)
Please insert them in this topic
Elisa Ruis et Valery Inkijinoff La rue sans joie (1938).jpg
Valery Inkijinoff et Mila Parely La rue sans joie 1938.jpg
Valery Inkijinoff La rue sans joie.jpg
Also you found a 1917 production as actor, well i found some other informations to be confirmed
First on NOTRECINEMA.COM : a movie called Kometa (French title : La comète) as actor and director ! (probably Russian)

then i found on KINOTV.COM teh following informations
As director two other Russian movies :
1926 Rasplata
1927 Vor
Maybe it is best to put them in uncertain ID's in filmo to check, what do you think ?
these information are nowhere to be found on other websites and IMDB
thanks

I have read the interview in French and here some translations
In 1929 he was a young director of the theatre school and Ukraine cinema.
He had a wife in the west and he had a young child that was terribly ill, so he went there but his young daughter died there and he decided to stay in the west allthough the Russians wanted him to come back.
He refused and soon afterwards, his name dissapeared in all the Russian books of Cinema and theater.
He served also for a while in the Russian army in the first world war but came back wounded.
I hope these informations are interesting enough.
thanks

Thanks, that's helpful. About the wife and child, is it clear if by "the west" he means western Russia or Western Europe? It would seem unlikely he would have had a wife in France before he defected there.

Unfortunately from a so-so print made worse by the presence of two annoying watermarks, but maybe you'll be able to remove them. If you are then maybe you're able to work some magic on the pics of Umberto Fantoni and Mara Oscuro as well...?
