Archibald Lyall is listed as appearing by Cineguida and as playing a Russian general by ANICA.
I think this could be him on the right in 41, but this is a clear as he's seen. What do others think?

Michael Billingsley is listed by ANICA as playing a Russian soldier at the redoubt (I have no idea what scene this refers to).
Billingsley has 2 other roles listed by IMDb, one in Gangs of New York, 46 years later, which would be useless for identification if it's even the same actor. The other one here is from Then There Were Three (1961) where he is credited as "Mike Billingsley" and credited with role so we can be sure of the ID. Unfortunately the images are hardly great for making ID's, though he does seem to have a distinctive mouth.

I agree with you about Georges Bréhat in photo 157.
He doesn't look like Giorgio Costantini in photo 162.
Also in my opinion Andrea Esterhazy is only the actor who plays the Officer at the dinner.
Unfortunately for the others still pending, I'm too undecided to be able to express an opinion.

I think it could be Bréhat (seeing the first picture).
I don't think it is Costantini.
For Lyall it could be him, but not really sure.
It is not Cortini as far as i could sse.
Very difficult to ID them, especially when there are many years between them in movies.

Michael "Mike" Billingsley was another ELDA old-timer. Here are some more pics of him from Then There Were Three which shows him a bit better, I thinkPeplumParadise wrote: ↑04/05/2023, 13:40Michael Billingsley is listed by ANICA as playing a Russian soldier at the redoubt (I have no idea what scene this refers to).

He's also with Stephen Garrett and some others in this pic I posted earlier from 1959. Rodd Dana has identified Mike as being the guy on the far right (with his eyes closed)

Well, maybe not definitely, but at least very probable. Baralla's face and eyes are very distinct.PeplumParadise wrote: ↑04/05/2023, 10:45Don't know about Baralla, with the wig and false beard, plus him only being seen in the distance, I don't know that this role can be definitely identified. I'd wondered if it might be another role for Esterhazy (him again!)
Similarly for Ravaioli I don't know that he is seen clearly enough to be sure.
Definite NO from me. Marchiandi was much younger in 1956.PeplumParadise wrote: ↑04/05/2023, 10:45Can anyone confirm this one?Ciavazzaro wrote: ↑03/05/2023, 17:32The woman in 33 is familiar i wonder if she can be Nora Marchiandi
Seems like it could be, but not sure.PeplumParadise wrote: ↑04/05/2023, 10:52ANICA lists Giorgio Costantini as playing a French officer.
Can this maybe be him in 162/163?

my 50c to a few of the people discussed:
It's Esterhazy in uniform in the 2 pics in question
Costatini and Behat yes (without being familiar with them)
NOT Cortini (being familiar with hime - way too old for 1956)

Thanks to those who have given your opinions on my possible ID's, though the results are somewhat inconclusive. If anyone else could give their opinions (Emiliano? Mauro?) that would be helpful in making decisions whether to post them or not.
So far we have (including my votes)
Giorgio Costantini: Yes x 2, Maybe x 1, No x 2
Georges Bréhat: Yes x 3, Maybe x 1
Tiziano Cortini: Maybe x 1, No x 2
Archibald Lyall: Yes x 1, Probable x 1
On the strength of that I think I can go ahead and add Bréhat, and maybe also Lyall with a note as a probable ID
Costantini is split right down the middle so more opinions would be helpful to sway the balance
Cortini seems to be a no go, so presumably is somewhere else (if he appears, it being an IMDb ID)

Cortini could be the guy in 22, with the cigar
