John Francis Lane was a well known British journalist, writer, critic and also an actor in movies and theater, born on the 1st of december 1928 in Tankerton England and died on January 15th, 2018.
He was an Italian cinema expert and a good friend of famous Italian directors, like Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni and Pier Paolo Pasolini.
He first visited Italy as a tourist in 1949, studied Italian at the university of Florence before settling in Rome in 1951.
In later years he lived in the town of Rende (Calabria region).
In 2013 his autobiography appeared under the significant title: To each his own Dolce Vita.
