After having acted with Silvio D'Amico in the troupe of the youngers of the Academy[1], and having quickly established herself for her dramatic qualities, Beatrice Mancini had her big-screen debut in the mid-thirties. But it was wth Caravaggio, il pittore maledetto (1941), for the second time alongside Nazzari, that the public and critics noticed her, and the part that she played in that (the inspiration of the great painter), seemed tailor-made for her natural romantic temperament.[1]
