Juan Martínez in Siempre es domingo (1961)

Juan Martínez was a prolific background actor, active in Spanish films at least from the late 1940's to the mid-1970's.

With over 200 roles found under the nickname of "Wavy Gravy" (so called for his thick wavy white hair) before his identification, I finally managed to identify him after finding a poor quality copy of the long-elusive Y el cuerpo sigue aguantando (1960), where he appears in an equal role to credited Enrique Núñez. Among the credits was Juan Martínez, who is one of the unidentified actors in our topic for Sólo para hombres, a film where I had always maintained that "Wavy" should be credited, but had never connected this name due to a lack of any evidence. I then re-checked the 3rd of his 4 IMDb credits, Oscuros sueños de agosto, a film where several of our other familiar actors are credited in minuscule roles and found "Wavy" in an almost invisible role where he had been previously overlooked. We already had him identified in the one remaining title from IMDb, an episode of the series Historias para no dormir where he appears in a role which has no reason whatsoever to be credited, but seemingly is anyway. So with "Wavy" found in all 4 of the films where Martínez is listed as appearing on IMDb, and at least 2 of them in roles where I would have expected him to be credited, I think we can finally say that his ID is certain.
