IMDb and Wikipedia both give the unconfirmed information that he was born in Torre Annunziata, Campania, Italy on October 4th 1933 and that he died in a car accident in Padua on May 14th 1980, aged 46.
No other biographical details are currently known.
He started out in small roles in spaghetti westerns, but he is probably best known for his appearances as monsters in several cult horror films. He additionally worked variously as a production secretary / supervisor / director / manager / controller and electrician, appearing in many of the films where he has production credits.
IMDb, Wikipedia and other sources have him listed as "Xiro Papas", a name with which he was credited in a number of his acting roles, however, including his production credits, the credits as "Ciro Papa" outnumber the "Xiro" credits by about 3-1. Presumably one or other of these was his actual name, but which one?
