Unidentified actors

Uncredited actors listed as appearing by other sources, but not identified
  • Roland Carey - IMDb as Barbarian
  • Margaret Fuller - IMDb as Part of Court. I assume by that they mean Courtier. There are very few noblewomen seen clearly, so if we could identify her she should be easy to find.
  • Jeffrey O'Kelly - IMDb as Brother of Livius. He had a brother? That plot point must have completely passed me by!
  • Robert Royal - From interview
  • Patricia Wright - IMDb as Roman citizen / Slave woman
The film was shot entirely in Spain, except for the short gladiator training scene (images 84-86) which was shot in Rome.

According to the dialogue continuity Cornelius (M Gwynn) has a line right in the end of the movie:

"Caesar’s command: Put her in chains!"

It should therefore be able to identify him in the last scene of the movie

The actor who speaks this line is the one we currently have identified as Guy Rolfe (below), but the Rolfe ID is based on information found online, so could be incorrect.

Gwynn has a distinctive mole beneath his right eye. It's rather hard to tell from the images if this actor has the mole, but it definitely looks like he could have. Gwynn and Rolfe have a rather similar look, so I'm not sure, but I think I'm inclined towards Gwynn, especially if this new information is correct. Any opinions?

Guy Rolfe was unbilled. Could it be that Gwynn was changed to Rolfe? And then the credits were not updated. Usually Rolfe played bigger parts.

Some info about Lena von Martens: She was Finnish as I am. Her husband offended one of the stars of the film and after that Lena's part became much smaller. She writes that in her autobiography (in Finnish). She moved back to Finland after her movie career in Italy.

My inclination is that it's Gwynn playing the role and that the Rolfe ID is incorrect.
