Remo Capitani was born on December 19, 1927 in Rome. He was an Italian stuntman and actor active in the film scene between the late 50s and until the end of the 70s. Often is credited under the name “Ray O’Connor”.

He began working in cinema industry at a young age thanks to his father. According to an interview, his first appearances date back to the late 1950s, during the golden age of peplum.
But his career was primarily linked to the Italian Western genre, and his contribution to these type of movies was notable. His first appearances in westerns date back to the mid-1960s in minor stunt roles. Toward the end of the 1960s, he began to land increasingly important roles, becoming one of the most iconic faces of Spaghetti Westerns over the following decade.

In his early years, he appeared with a well-groomed mustache and sometimes even a goatee. Later, he began to grow a full, unkempt beard, his most iconic look.
Remo died on February 14, 2014 in Rome in his house in the “Quarticciolo” district, at the age of 86.
