A ubiquitous presence in Italian cinema of the 1950s, Umberto Alivernini can be spotted in numerous comedies and melodramas of that era.
His ruggedly handsome features also attracted the attention of the famed milanese fotoromanzo magazine Bolero Film, who cast him in a supporting role the fotoromanzo "Perdutamente tua" (1948), in which his surname is misspelled as Oliverini, and he subsequently he appeared in a villainous role in "Fiori sul fango" (published in Sogno in 1949). He then abandoning this genre and focused his efforts on movies, appearing as an extra in a steady stream of films up until the early 1960s.
Surprisingly, Umberto also appears in a couple of films made between the mid 1970s and early 1980s, so there should be more roles to be found from the 1960s and early 1970s as well. However, he has at least one credit as capogruppo (a term for the person in charge of casting extras) so it is also possible that he worked largely in this capacity from the 1960s and onwards instead of appearing on-screen himself.
