Vincenzo Maggio in Lo chiamavano Bulldozer (1978)

Vincenzo Maggio was a stuntman and actor active in Italian films from at least the early 50's to the early 90's.

Vincenzo was born on April 5th 1934 in Naples, Italy and died on November 11th 2003, aged 69. He was the son of actor Dante Maggio, the nephew of Enzo Maggio (the namesake who causes so much confusion) and was the brother of Domenico Maggio, another actor.[1]

Much confusion is caused by there being 2 actors who were credited regularly both as Enzo and Vincenzo Maggio, both of whom were active concurrently from the 50's until the 70's. This confusion results in all filmographies you find for either actor (except ours obviously) being incorrect and mixing up the credits for both actors.

There are still a few movies where Vincenzo is credited by various online sources, so if anybody has images of him in the films below you know what to do. Be aware that with any of these roles it is quite possible that it could be the older Enzo Maggio who appears. ANICA lists a number of titles for "Enzo Maggio" that look like they could probably be Vincenzo - I have included the more obvious-looking ones and left the rest.

• I clowns (1970) ANICA as Clown Italiano. I have searched for him without any luck, but if he is hidden under clown make-up then he may be pretty impossible to find. There is also a credit for "Maggio" which someone may have mistaken to be Vincenzo, but almost certainly refers to Dante Maggio, who definitely does appear.

Titles where Vincenzo is credited somewhere online, but neither he nor the older Enzo appear

• Zorro (1975) Listed on IMDb as "Townsman". There is an actor who bears some resemblance to Vincenzo, but it is not him.

La città si difende (1951) credited as Enzo Maggio, as Alberto Tosi.

I came across this role completely by accident while searching for Amedeo Trilli. Every online source credits this role to the older Enzo, except, oddly, IMDb, where it is the sole credit for "Enzo Maggio Jr.". Coming some 8 years before any other known roles, the young Vincenzo has a large and dramatic role here and it's surprising he didn't move into more roles of substance as a result. On the strength of this I think it's quite possible that some other 50's roles ascribed to the older Enzo could also turn out to be Vincenzo.
