Elio Sannangelo at the age of ten had already acting in the Galli troupe and was in the cast of Giulio Cesare directed by Forzano. He gets stardom when was chosen in the competition organized by Mander Film - which counted 5163 competitors - to find the protagonist of the movie Piccolo alpino, where the fourteen-year-old Elio proved to be a real revelation, receiving an enthusiastic reception from critics and audiences.[1]
