He was born Julio Pedro Celestial Antonio Sanjuán y Cañete in Ferrol, Spain, on May 29th 1883, the son of Edmundo Sanjuán Armesto y María Dolores Cañete Seoane.[1].
After serving some time in the military, he relocated to Argentina, where he scored some success as an actor in the theatre. He returned to Spain at the start of the thirties, continuing as a theatrical actor, principally in comic roles. IMDb lists a film credit from 1936, but it is not him in the role. They list 2 further film roles from the 1940's, which we have so far been unable to confirm. He has one confirmed credit from 1951, then from 1956 he appeared in one or two films a year up until 1962, being most associated with the films of Fernando Fernán-Gómez and Marisol.
Julio died on December 4th 1967, aged 84.
