Fernando Rubio in Un dólar de fuego (1966)
Fernando Rubio was a small-part actor, active in Spanish films from the late 1950's until the early 1980's.

He was born Fernando Rubio Peña and is believed to have been born in Barcelona, but date and year are unknown. He had a wife, Elena Peiro, and three sons, Fernando, Albert and Carlos.[1] [2]

Before becoming an actor, Fernando worked as a professional wrestler, winning the Spanish championship in his category. That led to him participating in variety cabaret acts, and from there he aspired to an acting career.

His earliest-known film roles come from 1957. He started out in background roles, slowly building up to small-part character roles in the sixties and making his biggest mark in spaghetti westerns. His heavy-set build and dark features, always with moustache or beard, tended to get him cast in menacing or thuggish roles. A large part of his filmography consists of films shot in Barcelona. Fernando continued working steadily throughout the 1970's, seemingly retiring from the screen in 1983.

He is reported to have died in 1988 in Sant Celoni, Barcelona, but again the date is unknown.

Cita imposible (1958) credited, as Giovanni's accomplice, in rather unconvincing disguise as a woman in mourning!

Rapsodia de sangre (1958) Fernando is listed as appearing in this film by Enciclopedia del Cine Español. In the very poor copy I found, the only actor who seemed at all like Fernando was this Man pushing trolley. I'm far from certain about the ID from the fuzzy images, so this is an uncertain identification.

Charlestón (1959) credited as "Pianist", but not found.

There is only one pianist in the film and he is a black man who is only seen in the background with no reason to be credited.
