Asunción Mateos in Fray Escoba (1961)
Asunción Mateos was an actress, mostly in small parts, active in Spanish films at least between 1945-1966.

No biographical details are currently known.

She only has 6 known credits (and 2 of those cannot currently be found), spread over 21 years. With so few credited roles over such a long period, it would seem quite possible that she may have appeared more in smaller uncredited roles - time will tell.

Filmography

1950
  1. El señor Esteve .... Señora Felicia (credit unknown)

    1961
  2. Fray Escoba .... Doña Francesca (credited)

    1963
  3. Cristo negro .... Sister Mercedes (credited)

    1966
  4. La ciudad no es para mí .... Grandmother (credited)

  • La hija del circo (1945) IMDb
  • El improvisador (1964 TV movie) IMDb

El señor Esteve (1951) as Señora Felicia.

The opening credits are missing from all prints that are currently available, but online sources indicate that she should be credited.

Cristo negro (1963) credited, as Sister Mercedes.

Pretty much unrecognisable in the poor quality copies that are available, but by process of deduction this should be her. The film is set in a mission in Africa and there are only 3 white actresses who appear and the other 2 are identified younger actresses (the only other possibility would be that she appears in blackface, but the film uses genuine black actors to play the native roles, so this would be very unlikely).
