: Frank Baker in The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935 TV series)

Frank Baker was an Australian actor who went to the USA in 1923 where he made some silent movies and was often credited till the beginning of the 1930's. From then on, he became more and more a bit player and in his later years kind of an extra. He was also a good friend of director John Ford, being a member of his actor's stock company.

He was born in Melbourne, Victoria on October 11th 1892 and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles on December 30th, 1980. His brother, Snowy Baker, was an Australian silent movie actor too.

You may say that he was a sort of male equivalent of the American female extra player Leoda Richards.

This silent movie is presumed to be lost. Found only a still of this picture and was lucky to find him on the picture, on the right

Early adventure movie from John Ford, set in India with an English captain who goes undercover to free some British prisoners but
his regiment thinks that he is a coward but they don't know that he has a secret mission to do.
There was a remake made in the fifties, King of the Khyber rifles with Tyrone Power.

As said before, he was again in a John Ford production about a medical researcher named Arrowsmith, who must find a vaccin
to reduce a plague outbreak. This story looks very modern if we see the world now.
