Very important group for generici

Just today reading here i found about this great group (im not on facebook so i did not know it)

There are so many photos of generici for possible future topics, but more important there is one former generico named Renato Pacifico
who seems to remember the names of all his colleagues !

The people who have facebook can contact him ?, im sure he would be very happy to help and maybe even join us, i think he can help us identify some of our unidentify

For example i think he can finally confirm the name of our Ettore's Wife on facebook he write Ettore's wife name is Rossana Rossi and that she was a generica too.
so if we show him this topic im sure he can recognize her and since he remembers her name we can then identify her

Plus like i told you he seems to remembers all the names so who knows how many other can identify !

I joined the group, though I rarely use Facebook these days other than to post in my peplum group for actors birthdays.

There are quite a few unknown names to me (but then I mostly only know those who were active in the 50's and 60's), though also many of the actors pictured certainly were not generici.

I see I have previously been in contact privately with the group admin Simone Le Brut Rossi back in 2019 - it was in regard to a correction he made on my Facebook page for Daniele Vargas. At that time I did send him a link to Thrilling Forum, but he did not seem to be very interested and after a few comments the conversation ended.

Still i think on the contrary that Renato Pacifico would be happy to speak with us if anyone else have facebook to write him, he can be of great help !

Looking down the page it does seem certain that some of the images and identifications have originated from Thrilling Forum. An image of Carlo Di Maggio was certainly taken from our topic for La dolce vita as the other actors in the scene are blurred identically to the way I have them and an image of Gengher Gatti from the topic for Le avventure di Mary Read is also blurred the same - so if he is taking and posting images from our site without giving credit then I don't see why we cannot do the same.

I hope im not causing trouble, still i cant tell he cites our website in several conversation.
In one about Ugo Mari he says to someone who discovered him to go to our website so he can see all his pics.

Also i can see he made research by himself, like founding photos of generici from annuals, and also confirming carlo and lella were a couple, with people knowning them confirming

I think there will be no trouble if we give him credit in case we can found and write identifications from his page here, because like i told you he have worked a lot too, with several interesting biographical and filmography adding not on our website and that so he must have found by himself.

Plus they have stolen from him too, because the biographical informations he found have been added on imdb without his consent, so he is in our situation too.

The further down the page I go the more images I see that I know are from here. I always adjust the balance and contrast on my images to show the actors more clearly, so if they had been taken directly from the films they would not look the same.

The big difference between ourselves and IMDb and Facebook are that they are big commercial sites, while we are a private no profit non-commercial site where a small group of people put in a lot of hard work. Since we choose to be viewable to the general public then there is no way to stop people copying information posted here, however the information and images we post here are technically copyrighted, so really it is illegal for people to re-use what we post without permission or giving credit.

I'm not saying there is not a lot of other information there that he has found by himself or is from other sites, but that still does not excuse using uncredited images taken directly from here.

Oh yes that i know is frustratring, only i don't want to cause a ghibarian 2 sequel if you know what i mean.

But you are absolutely right about our hard work being spoiled a little by this, but sadly since i don't know if we can legally copyright our discoveries im afraid it will be a necessary evil (this is way i did begin to write down the pic this information was not on imdb as , just to give our new discovery a copyright in a way, that at least people know that this informations did came from us first).

Like i told you this other group is very important because im founding pictures of generici i didn't know and from which we can begin to search in movies, since he seems he only post the identification and biographical informations and not all the pics like us, even if like you rightly say he did take a lot from our website without giving credit but still i don't want to cause tensions, since we are very few who did this kind of research
and we should all be together, even if i repeat you are absolutely right that credit must be given and i repeat for any generico i can open topic thanks of his pics i will always give him full credit.

Like the possible identification for "Lurch", I have seen he has posted an identification for "Mr. Hyde" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1066304 ... 519552494/) and what he says is a 'probable' identification for "Ferrety Face" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1066304 ... 773270802/), but again there is no information about where these identifications have been found and how they were confirmed.

Again he has used images taken from our site for these posts, yet he does not care to share the information he has found with us or give credit for the images. I just find this very bad manners.
