Here we celebrate the most famous generica of the all italian cinema: Franca Scagnetti.

She was born in Rome on May 17, 1924, and lived all her life in Via Gregorio IX, where she was an housewife. She entered in the world of entertainment in the past forty years as an extra and she often participates with very modest roles, more often with a "figurazione speciale" (an extra with some lines of speech), in all to over a hundred movies.

Her characteristic roman sympathy and his abundant figure typical of the middle-aged woman of popular extraction, contribute to increase her fame to the point that over the years has become more important than many actresses of her period.

After thirty years of career, in the late nineties, also forgotten by relatives and in serious economic difficulties, she appeared as a guest in an episode of the Rai TV program "Domenica In": interviewed by Mara Venier, she asked, in tears, "to give her a part" for her own subsistence.

The late revaluation of his spontaneous art and the affection for her figure, takes place with some participation in the fictions Casa Vianello (1998), Don Matteo (1999) and Un medico in famiglia (1998-99). She left on 1 November 1999, a few months after her last movie, Regina Coeli (1999).
